The Power of Devotion

SYNOPSIS: The article tries to visualise the great power of devotion. The article calls for unfailing devotion towards ALMIGHTY at all times and in all circumstances.

An infant not even in full clothing, thirsty & hungry in hot summer afternoon is often made a symbol of misery and you must have seen such infant in mother’s lap begging on traffic signals in poor countries.

That infant is on mother’s feed and is a newborn, therefore the infant had done nothing wrong in the present birth because the infant had yet not uttered a word nor had laid a foot on the ground.

Just ponder then as to what is the reason behind such misery. The reason could be either in the previous births it would have done lot of evil things or it was not able to associate itself with the ALMIGHTY through devotion. Because if it would have had devotion for GOD, by sheer virtue of the devotional power it would have burnt all sins accumulated till such time. GOD’s shower of a split-second kindness has a much vaster potency to burn sins and evils than anyone’s capability to accumulate sins & evils in many births.

The first power of devotion is that it burns sins & evils of many births. The second power of devotion (which is even more important than the first) is that it restrains us from doing evils & sins in the instant life. Because real devotion cleanse our mind & soul to such a extend that we are able to acknowledge our inner voice which restrain us from doing wrong. With devotion we are able to distinctively & clearly hear our inner voice. If we abide by our inner voice it becomes more strong & audible. If we do the opposite & are not devotional, our inner voice subsides and becomes inaudible.

What is this inner voice ? This is our true voice, the voice of ALMIGHTY within us who guides us for doing good deeds and restrains us from doing evil & bad deeds.

It is the devotional power which is able to generate directions from within, which is not the case if you are not devotional. The devotional power restricts us from indulging in evil & sinful activities in that birth and it is the same devotional power which burns our past accumulated evils & sins of many births.

When our accumulated sins & evils are washed away, we get a human birth in a good, noble family. Being born in such a family and being able to understand the reason behind it, we must continue on the devotional path in that birth. Because it was the devotion which was instrumental in earning GOD’s kindness which led to the burning of our sins, by virtue of which we got the human body and birth in noble family. Therefore if we are able to keep our devotion predominant & prevailing in the new birth, it saves us from indulging in sinful activities. It makes our inner voice cogent and saves us from doing evil deeds. Only devotion can lead us to the greatest height in human life and can even leads us to an audience with ALMIGHTY by which we are freed from the miseries of birth & rebirths forever. In fact this is the very purpose of human life.

Therefore if we are born with adversities (in a poor & humble family) we must practice devotion for undoing our miseries, to cleanse us from sins and for generation of audible inner voice which will restrain us from indulging in new evils during adversities. On the contrary,if we are born without adversities (in a affluent & noble family) then too, we must practice devotion as a thanksgiving to the ALMIGHTY and for achieving the real pinnacle of human life (the real pinnacle of human life is not accumulation of worldly wealth and enjoying worldly luxuries and show-off but the real pinnacle is practicing high moral principles and doing noble deeds in the human life). Also, if we are born without adversities, we must practice devotion to make our inner voice cogent so that our arrogance of wealth & power do not force us into doing wrongful evils.

If we are born with adversities, we should consider it the result of our lack of devotion in previous births. In other words, we were not able to connect with the kindness of ALMIGHTY. Therefore it becomes utterly important to connect with GOD through devotion so that raise our present birth & our afterlife.

If we are born without adversities, we should consider it the result of our devotion towards GOD in our past lives and the present favorable times is nothing but the reward for being able to connect ourself with the ALMIGHTY in past lives. Therefore we should continue to keep ourself connected with ALMIGHTY by practicing devotion in the present life too.

In both situations, to walk on the devotional path is the only & most viable medium to make our human life successful & wonderful.

GOD’s Kindness & Devotion

SYNOPSIS: The article focuses on visualizing the kindness of ALMIGHTY GOD at all times in all circumstances.

At every moment & all times, we continue to receive shower of GOD’s kindness. But we can visualize this kindness of the ALMIGHTY only through our “devotional eye”. We will never be able to visualize it with our human eye. And we can never repay this gratitude by any means, we should not even conceive the thought to repay.

Instead we must make efforts to remain humble & dear to ALMIGHTY GOD at all times so that we continue to receive the shower of kindness from HIM. For doing this we need to compulsorily choose the path of devotion.

When we will make an effort to visualize GOD’s kindness in our life, we will find that the first instance of kindness was when we were in the mother’s womb in a most miserable state and therefore prayed for help & was rescued by the LORD with birth. After our birth, we can immediately visualize the second instance of GOD’s kindness, when HE sent our food in the mother’s breast. HE sends the food prior to the birth of the infant who is without teeth, in form of mother’s milk which is no less than divine nectar for the new born. (Even modern medical science had undisputedly accepted that this nectar has no earthly substitutes.) We can also visualize the third instance of GOD’s kindness when HE sowed the mother’s heart with seeds of attachment & affection (Mamta) for the infant. Even a women who is quarrelsome & short tempered by nature, raises her child with great affection & placidity, contrary to her nature. That woman could be very bad for the world (her father-in-law, mother-in-law, sister-in-laws) but she becomes a perfect loving mother for her child. This spells GOD’s kindness in form of attachment & affection (Mamta) on the newborn. As per a popular old saying, GOD had said that HE has deliberately filled the mother’s heart with attachment & affection (Mamta) so that HE can ensure goodness for the newborn at all times. Therefore it is true that from behind the mother, it is ALMIGHTY GOD who showers kindness on the infant, and we must understand this fact. The showers of kindness from GOD continue to befall on us, but we need a “devotional eye” or at least “a devotional Lorgnette (specs)” to visualize it.

Devotion towards GOD should never be for the purpose of repaying GOD’s kindness in our life. Even to think of repaying, is a sin. Because if devotion for GOD has come in our life, it is also a kindness of GOD, infact it is GOD’s greatest kindness on a soul. To continue receiving GOD’s kindness in our life, we should compulsorily continue on the path of devotion. With the first devotion ray, we start visualizing GOD’s kindness in our life. It feels great to see the GOD’s kindness in our life and we get attracted towards GOD (world & illusion becomes secondary). With the second devotion ray, we start visualizing GOD in our heart and we start loving HIM (GOD is present in each & every heart, but with devotion we are able to feel HIS presence within ourself). With the third devotion ray, our love for GOD becomes so great, becomes so vigorous that our strong attachment with HIM leads for the oneness / unification of our individual soul with the UNIVERSAL SOUL.

The greatest aphorism in a human life is to learn the art of visualizing GOD’s kindness at all times, though our wisdom. We must also, without delay, take the recourse of devotion, to continue receiving such kindness of GOD in our life.

With devotion, you will find that even in compelling & unfavorable situations, you will be able to visualize GOD’s kindness. Even if sometime happens contrary to your wishes, you will start understanding that it was as per GOD’s wish and therefore this kindness of GOD is in my best interest. Through our wisdom if we are able to constantly visualize the kindness of GOD and if we are able to constantly upkeep devotion for GOD in the bottom of our heart, we attain the real height in human life.

The word ‘constantly’ is of importance here. Our wisdom does sometimes allow us to visualize GOD’s kindness whereas at most of the time it leads us to (falsely) believe that GOD has not been kind to us. Likewise only sometimes our heart is filled with devotion for GOD whereas at most time it is filled with desire for earthly pursuits. But the real height of human life is only when at all times our wisdom visualizes the kindness of GOD and at all times, our heart is filled with devotion for GOD. If we try to practice this, our wisdom gets purified and our heart also becomes pure & unsullied. Purification means whatever evil was present in our wisdom and in our heart, starts getting washed away.

Purified wisdom is the perfect home for the MERCIFUL GODDESS to reside and purified heart is the perfect home for the MERCIFUL GOD to stay.
